The Badminton is consolidated in the former municipality as a sport of speed, stamina and technique. Former City Council, through the Council of Sports, organized by the Badminton Club of Antigua, the ninth edition of the Badminton Tournament Christmas 2009, bringing together the best athletes in track selections Tenerife, Lanzarote and Fuerteventura, from 4 to 6 December at the Municipal Sports Pavilion Antigua.

“Badminton is a sport of precision, speed and endurance that consolidates its practice in the municipality of Antigua (Fuerteventura), and offers us in this tournament IX Christmas 2009 show and a high level of play in the games,” adds former Mayor Gustavo Berriel, “like other sports played in all 32 Sports Schools that operate through the town, badminton began as a minority and today has established itself as a School of Antigua with the potential to excel in their sporting performance at other municipalities and other islands. ”

HELENATURBOTEATRO act with her show “Light, more light!” In Fuerteventura. It will be today, (November 30) at 21 pm in the Auditorium Island, Puerto del Rosario. Admission is free but seating is limited.

The subject argument of “Light, more light!” Revolves around the Canarian writer Mercedes Pinto, who spent most of his life in exile in various Latin American countries. The piece picks up and dramatizes some of his journalistic output described in “Window Color” by Alicia Llarena that compiles the most varied and creative aspects essential Mercedes Pinto, and on whose lines the threads of life and work are intertwined.

Helena Romero director has staged a piece performed by women: two actresses and a pianist who becomes a touching evocation of Mercedes Pinto. We will see a committed and passionate character, but also dreamy and fun.

The actresses Guacimara Gil and Carmen Hernández give life to the figure unmatched scenic Mercedes Pinto, showing great versatility and Splitting into other characters involved occasionally. Because it is the case of author and character, work and life, travel and subsistence form pairs that cross and fed back through various genres, causing surprise and complicity of the viewer.

Together with the two actresses, the pianist Conchi Reyes enriched environment and development phases of the piece.
The costumes designed by Maurice Sicily, lighting and sound are carried out by Daniel Badal, graphic design is the work of Mote and choreography by Juan Manzano. The texts of the articles Mercedes Pinto adapted by Paco turbo Monge and equipment from the CIA.

The Environmental Council of Fuerteventura’s Cabildo  is organizing a new edition of the Atlantic Conference on the environment, to be held this coming thursday and friday 12 and nov. 13 at the Arte Juan Ismael’s center.

Again, the CAMA will involve leading experts and researchers from locations such as Canary, Azores, Madeira and the peninsula, which explain or discuss various issues of relevance to today’s global environment and local, including management of biosphere reserves in its territorial and marine areas, effects and social and economic consequences of climate change have led to the concept of global change, or the state of the ocean in the Canary Islands, among others.

Among the agencies represented at this year’s conference are the General Secretariat of UNESCO in the Canaries, the research company Oceana, Doñana Biological Station, SEO / BirdLife, the two Canarian universities or the State Agency of Meteorology, in addition to various governmental entities of the governments of the Azores, Madeira and the Canaries.

Within the schedule of the first day emphasizes the Atlantic Awards for the Environment, which will be announced at 17:00 pm on Friday. Just before this event, at 16:30 hours, the Biosphere Reserve of Fuerteventura to take another step forward with the formation of its Scientific Advisor in the framework of the Atlantic Conference.
